“Thoughtful…an intelligent crowd-pleaser.” — Nick Allen, RogerEbert.com

"Delightful, revealing documentary." — Andy Webster, The New York Times

This profile of Bill Nye, the man who brought science to kids with pop culture flair, crackles with the spirit of discovery as this charismatic but prickly searcher takes present-day stands on climate change, evolution, and space exploration. His PBS show "Bill Nye: The Science Guy" ended in 1998, but he remains a hero to scores of adults for whom he was the dapper bow-tied, lab-coated TV-teacher who demonstrated gravity by tossing watermelons off high buildings. Filmmakers Sussberg and Alvarado trace Nye’s personal story, from studies with mentor Carl Sagan and the development of the show (amusing clips included), and follow his high-profile crusades, including debates with creationist entrepreneur Ken Ham and global warming-denying TV weatherman Joe Bastardi, and his new job as CEO of The Planetary Society.
