Returning to coming-of-age territory following his award-winning THE WISE KIDS, Chicago director Cone brings a haunted twist to this drama set in the on- and offstage world of a college theater production. A grad student elects to adapt a young-adult Gothic novel rife with sadism, child abuse, and a harrowing exorcism for her directorial debut. The surprise arrival of the novel's deeply withdrawn author (Pendleton) reshuffles the psychic deck, unwittingly opening a Pandora's Box of sexual temptations, fears, and suppressed memories among the inexperienced cast. Director Stephen Cone and selected cast and crew members will be present for audience discussion at all screenings.
