"A master class in building suspense, beat by beat." - Marc Savlov, Austin Chronicle

This deceptively somber drama takes a screeching left turn into black comedy, and has been termed "the Croatian FARGO." Goran (Dijak, in a wonderfully subtle deadpan performance), a morose cab driver in the boondocks of the country's snowy hinterland, has every reason to celebrate. It's his birthday; he's finished building a sauna at his getaway cottage; and his wife has just announced she's pregnant, news that will strangely enough set off a violent chain of events. Unknown to winsome blind wife Lina, Goran is sterile, a fact that puts each of his clutch of good-time buddies under suspicion. A startling home video revealed in the course of an all-night boozer becomes the linchpin of the story, and director Marasovic's hilariously dark ace in the hole. In Croatian with English subtitles.
