- HIGH GROUND
- 2012, Michael Brown, USA, 92 min.
“Impressively restrained…takes its cues from the worldview of its subjects.”

Mountain-climbing films present a graphic look at courage, endurance, and scaling the heights, and HIGH GROUND is no exception—but with a different emphasis and an added dimension. Ten traumatized Iraq war veterans and the mother of one of their fallen comrades reveal their unique personal stories and come to terms with deep wounds of body and spirit, as they grapple with the ascent of Lobuche East, one of the tallest Himalayan peaks, in a harrowing but healing expedition known as “Soldiers to the Summit.” HDCAM video. Director Michael Brown and producer Don Hahn will be present for audience discussion at both screenings.
