“This gritty workplace dramedy recalls French films like THE CLASS and POLISSE, tracking the daily grind of disgruntled state employees through a mix of humor, realism and two-fisted compassion.”
— Jordan Mintzer, Hollywood Reporter

Writer-director Lilti, a trained doctor, delivers a scathing inside critique of the French health system in this semi-autobiographical tale shot in the same hospital where he once practiced. Eager intern Benjamin (Lacoste of THE FRENCH KISSERS) soon finds his youthful idealism out of place in a Paris hospital plagued by overwork, faulty equipment, budget cuts, and the staff’s creeping apathy. Mixing Chayefskian satire with observational realism, Lilti goes beyond personal memoir by paralleling Benjamin’s story with that of Abdel (brilliantly portrayed by Kateb of A PROPHET and ZERO DARK THIRTY), an experienced Algerian doctor whose immigrant status consigns him to a menial position and whose compassionate attitude toward patient care makes him all the more vulnerable. Nominated for seven César Awards, including Best Picture. In French with English subtitles. Special advance screening courtesy of Distrib Films. DCP digital widescreen. (MR)
