French director Gavras (BLAME IT ON FIDEL) crosses the channel for this wry and wistful look at the difficulties of growing old gracefully. Hurt and Rossellini co-star as London architect Adam (complete with British accent) and his Italian-born wife Mary. With the big six-oh looming up, Mary bravely reconciles herself to a future of bifocals and big-buttoned telephones, while Adam tries to evade the inevitable by consorting with a group of young architecture students.
