First Place Feature winner of $5000 in the Christopher Wetzel Award for Independent Film Comedy, FRED AND VINNIE comically and poignantly chronicles the odd-couple relationship of a down-on-his-luck Hollywood actor and a vegetarian moocher. Fred allows Vinnie, a long-distance friend he’s never met, to crash at his small apartment until he can “get on his feet.” Unfortunately for prissy neat-freak Fred, supersized agoraphobic Vinnie turns out to be more familiar with lounging on his backside. A battle of wills ensues. HDCAM video.

Preceded by THE TOOL T-SHIRT, First Place Short winner of $2500. The purchase of a heavy-metal band T-shirt brings new meaning to its owner’s life. Mini-DV video. (BS)

Director Steve Skovran, writer and co-star Fred Stoller, and co-star Angelo Tsarouchas of FRED AND VINNIE, and director Peyton Brown of THE TOOL T-SHIRT will be present for audience discussion.
