- 2011, Chris Paine, USA, 90 min.
- Narrated by Tim Robbins
“Riveting…highly entertaining…with unprecedented insider access.”
—John Lopez, Vanity Fair
“Distinguished by its unguarded access to GM’s Bob Lutz, Nissan’s Carlos Ghosn, and Tesla’s Elon Musk--three colorful super-villains who might just save the planet.”
—Julian Sancton, Esquire
Funny how the roadblocks once thrown in the way of the electric car by the captains of industry have evaporated like gas fumes now that there’s the whiff of profit in the air. Although the electric car appeared to be dead and buried in Chris Paine’s 2006 hit WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?, with this new film the director traces the tracks of the resurrected vehicle’s race for viability and popularity. The compelling behind-the scenes story takes us from drawing board to sales lot. From independent Tesla Motors to corporate behemoths GM and Nissan, the players are scrambling for market share, and the former villains have become the new champions of green. HDCAM video. (BS)
