The Gene Siskel Film Center welcomes educators and students!
As a public program of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Gene Siskel Film Center believes that film is a powerful educational tool, providing cultural exposure, multicultural understanding, and historical perspective to students of all ages. To enhance the educational opportunities for young people throughout the city, the Film Center welcomes public and private middle school, high school and college classrooms to our facility to experience films on the big screen. We believe these films provide an informative and inspiring springboard for dialogue and critical thinking..

Monthly School Screening Series
What: We invite Chicagoland middle and high school classrooms to join us once a month for a special daytime screening of a film we’re currently showing. Each screening includes a Q&A with a filmmaker or expert.
How: Sign up for our Educator email list on our website! Each month, we email educators on our list, announcing the date and film title of the upcoming month’s screening. Educators must RSVP on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cost: Discounted monthly series ticket price of $6 per student, teacher, and chaperone. Each ticket includes a small popcorn! Schools are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Film Center, which is easily accessible by the CTA.
