The glorious, mythic, prideful South and the hardscrabble redneck South come together in this intimate look at the charismatic alt-country/Southern rock band the Drive-By Truckers, known for their dark, plaintive lyrics and Bubba themes. Award-winning filmmaker Weissman, a fan himself, comes at the Truckers phenomenon from every angle, taking the viewer from the feverish passion of concerts to an insider’s tale of hard luck and heartbreak as the band survives near break-up, to a look at the private lives of lead singer/songwriter Patterson Hood and other band members. At the screening on January 29, we will be raffling off a copy of the film poster SIGNED by all the band members. This is a limited-run 12 x 18 poster designed by Wes Freed, the Richmond, VA-based artist who has designed numerous album covers and tour posters for the Drive-By Truckers.
