"Pretty damn, I mean darn, funny...The wonderful deadpan sharpshooter Aubrey Plaza is in her comfort zone and knocks it out of the park." — Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times

“Deliciously deadpan sex farce played by some of the deftest clowns in the English-speaking world.” — David Edelstein, Vulture

Loosely based on a couple of ribald nun-centric tales from Boccaccio’s "The Decameron," with a decidedly contemporary flair, this romp of a sex farce tickles the funny bone with the adventures of a group of 14th-century temptresses, not all of whom took the veil of their own free will. The fortress-like convent is something of a medieval reform school for young ladies who learn needlework and pray for deliverance. Tantrums and catfights ensue, and f-bombs fall from virginal lips when the learning curve proves steep for lust, lesbianism, and witchcraft. Under the influence of new arrival Marta (Jemima Kirke of "Girls"), plans are soon afoot for the nuns to have their way with the hunky gardener (Franco) hired by clueless chaplain Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly), who is deep into the sacramental wine and has eyes for the mother superior. All hell breaks loose when the bishop (Fred Armisen) arrives. DCP digital widescreen. (BS)
