“One of Carpenter’s best films...funny and daring.”
—Michael Wilmington, Los Angeles Times
Using the familiar sci-fi trope of “aliens among us,” horror master Carpenter weaves a wild, occasionally goofy, and ultimately biting commentary on class division and greed. A down-on-his-luck construction worker (former wrestler Piper) stumbles across a pair of sunglasses that strip the veneer off reality and reveal that the powers-that-be are aliens, enslaving the population with subliminal messages through advertisements, TV, and the media. 35mm widescreen.
