Seekers, lovers, and survivors, women of color are the heroines of these five shorts:
Wednesday, August 9 at 6 PM: Director Will Robbins, executive producer Asher Turney, writer/producer Meleisha Edwards, and cast member Mykie Fisher of IN THE SPOTLIGHT; director Maisha R. Carter of ON THE VERGE OF MOTION; and director Mary-Lyn Chambers, producer Monica Lawson, and cast member Renda Pettis of THE PLURAL OF BLOOD are scheduled to appear for audience discussion on Wednesday. This screening is a Movie Club event. The discussion will be held at the Gene Siskel Film Center with food provided by Rosebud Prime. The discussion will be facilitated by Bonnie DeShong, Director of Community Relations for the DuSable Museum of African American History.
Thursday, August 10 at 8:15 PM: Director Maisha R. Carter or ON THE VERGE OF MOTION; director Mary-Lyn Chambers, producer Monica Lawson, and cast member Renda Pettis of THE PLURAL OF BLOOD; and writer/producer Meleisha Edwards of IN THE SPOTLIGHT are scheduled to appear for audience discussion. PLUS: From 7 PM to 8 PM, there will be a pre-screening wine tasting and artist talk in the gallery/cafe with writer/producer Meleisha Edwards of IN THE SPOTLIGHT sponsored by 57th Street Wines. All ticket holders are invited.
