"An unlikely partnership, born out of deep loneliness, gives CROSSING, an aching story of regret, its steady, unassuming heartbeat." - Robert Daniels, RogerEbert.com

"A love letter to the commonalities between Georgian and Turkish culture; one that encourages empathy and reminds us it’s never too late to change for the better." - Hannah Strong, Little White Lies

Retired teacher Lia has made a promise to find out what happened to her long-lost transgender niece, Tekla. When Lia learns from her neighbor Achi that Tekla might have left their Georgian homeland to live in Turkey, Lia and Achi set off together to find her. Arriving in Istanbul, they find searching for someone who never intended to be found is harder than they expected. Levan Akin’s (AND THEN WE DANCED) astounding, award-winning CROSSING is a moving exploration of the complexities of cultural identity and the universal quest for self-discovery. Film Center exclusive.
