Delicately weaving Sophie’s memories with grainy MiniDV footage from the holiday, a fuller view of Calum emerges, that of a loving father and a man struggling with profound depression. Wells deftly captures the delicacy of memory, exploring the intersections between what we know and what we remember about the people who love us, and the ghosts of our past.
