“The film, a feature length parody of Disney’s FANTASIA, is a masterpiece unto itself – and if you haven’t seen it you are required to attend.” - Jerry Beck, Cartoon Brew

“Unforgettable…a charming, wicked satire.” - Empire

“A reminder of a time not that long ago when movies seemed fresher, braver and just generally more exciting than they are now.” - Ken Hanke, Mountain Xpress

Opens July 17 | Classical music, color animation, and black and white live-action photography collide in this biting parody from political, satirical legend Bruno Bozzetto (MR. ROSSI LOOKS FOR HAPPINESS, WEST AND SODA, THE SUPERVIPS). Having poked fun at American westerns and superhero movies, Bozzetto here takes aim at animation giant Walt Disney, spinning FANTASIA on its head with no small amount of wit and precision, not to mention animation prowess. An enterprising producer believes he has hit upon a winning concept: a program of animated shorts set to classical music. Undeterred by warnings that this has already been done, he rallies an orchestra of geriatric women, a bullish conductor, and an animator locked in the dungeon. What could go wrong? A gleeful sendup ALLEGRO NON TROPPO blends live-action slapstick with cheeky animation for a joyful, raunchy romp. Siskel Film Center exclusive.
