"The vibrancy of childhood skips from the screen. It’s there in the excitement of the title’s exclamation mark and in its candy hues. It’s also present in the animation which is built around movement, a child’s squirm here, a shrug there." - Amber Wilkinson, Eye for Film

"A vivid Fauvist dreamscape." - Catherine Bray, Film of the Week

In Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach's (THE GIRL WITHOUT HANDS) visual marvel, beleaguered mother Paulette does everything she can to keep a promise to her daughter Linda: make chicken with peppers—her late father’s signature dish—for dinner. Linda’s innocent request quickly leads to an outrageous and hilarious series of events, all brought to vibrant and colorful life in this hand-painted animation tour-de-force. Exploring themes of grief, family (and poultry), the delightful and touching CHICKEN FOR LINDA! arrives at the Film Center after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival and winning top prizes for animation at the César and Lumiere Awards.
