Joe Dante’s encyclopedic knowledge of movies is on full display in this zany sequel which despite its high silliness delivers tense moments of real threat. The Gremlins are back, and this time, they've taken control of a New York City media mogul's high-tech skyscraper. Now living in the big city, Billy and Kate once again wage a gruesome and chaotic battle against the mischievous horde. The ambitious scale of GREMLINS 2, fueled by the seemingly unlimited budget Warner Brothers offered to lure Dante into making a sequel he resisted, turns the Gremlins into full-blown live action-cartoon satire of corporate culture. The film’s worst villain is wealthy real estate tycoon Daniel Clamp, deliciously played by John Glover as a direct parody of another New York real estate personality of the era. Riotously funny and as visually packed as Tati film, GREMLINS 2 begs to be seen on the big screen.

The eight films in this series trace creature-making craftsmanship from in-camera practical effects to digitally-enhanced creature augmentation and offer a slate of scary and sweet strangers to match every spooky season mood.
