“Pedro Almodóvar's films are an acquired taste, and with HIGH HEELS I am at last beginning to acquire it.” - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
Monday, December 4, 8:30 p.m. | Of Almodóvar’s farcical melodrama, Roger Ebert wrote “Pedro Almodóvar’s films are an acquired taste, and with HIGH HEELS I am at last beginning to acquire it.” High-spirited, bittersweet and brimming with Almodóvar’s trademark vivid color and style, in HIGH HEELS a famous actress is reunited with the daughter she abandoned as a child, only to discover that her daughter’s husband is none other than her ex-lover. Sakamoto’s swooning score is joined by a soundtrack featuring Miles Davis, Costa-Rican singer Chavela Vargas, and Canadian jazz pianist Gil Evans.
