“A highly original work by an artist who follows his own vision - wherever it leads.” - Charles Solomon, Los Angeles Times

Sunday, April 9 at 12pm | Masaaki Yuasa’s (MIND GAME) hallucinogenic and delirious whirlwind, THE NIGHT IS SHORT, WALK ON GIRL, is a boozy and bombastic anime that takes place during one epic night in Kyoto. A university student (known only as “black-haired maiden") bounces from one surreal encounter to the next, and imbibes with everyone she meets (including an old ghost with a drinking problem). As she stumbles through the evening, the infatuated Senpai follows close behind, crafting up increasingly contrived “meet-cute” reasons to bump into her and confess his feelings. Inventive in story and style, Yuasa’s euphoric romance captures the exhilarating, terrifying, and intoxicating experience of falling in love.
