“There’s something so fundamentally true and humane about PILGRIMS that is difficult to articulate, and that slipperiness is precisely what makes it so effective.” -  Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, AWFJ.org

“A striking feature debut from a director with an unconventional vision of the world and an uncompromising stylistic approach.” - Jonathan Romney, Screen International

Tuesday, March 28 at 6:15pm | Indre and Paulius haven’t kept in touch, but they are bound by a shared tragedy: the murder of Indre’s boyfriend Matas - Paulius’ brother. Haunted by his violent end, the two retrace Matas’ steps, desperate to make sense of his death, driven by the unspoken hope that, if they can learn how exactly he died, they may find closure. A haunting, slow burn portrait of trauma and grief, PILGRIMS was Lithuania's submission to the Academy Awards, and winner of Best Film in the Horizons program at the Venice Film Festival.
