“One of the best films of the year. Juliette Binoche, Tom Courtenay and Anna Calder-Marshall are outstanding…Every performance is filled with moments so real they might pass through the screen.” -Danny Leigh, The Financial Times

“A scathingly unsentimental look at the complexity of caring for an elderly person with dementia…sincere, urgent and unflinchingly honest." -Leslie Felperin, The Hollywood Reporter

“The two grounded, laser-focused leads—Juliette Binoche and Tom Courtenay—help navigate us through the intimate and surprisingly complex moral maze about to unfold.” -Damon Wise, Deadline

Opens November 13 | Academy Award–winner Juliette Binoche, Academy Award–nominee Tom Courtenay, and Emmy Award–winner Anna Calder-Marshall give a trio of powerhouse performances in this unflinching and thorny drama that took home the Silver Bear Jury Prize at Berlinale. Amanda (Binoche) and her stepfather Martin (Courtenay) struggle with a moral issue that divides them. Has Amanda’s mother Leslie (Calder-Marshall), who is suffering from advanced dementia, lost the ability to make critical decisions in her own best interests? And, if so, who is responsible—a spouse, a child, an institution—for making such a determination? As Amanda and Martin are forced to make increasingly difficult choices, the repercussions spiral out of their control. Siskel Film Center exclusive.
