"Breathtaking, hilarious, and unforgettable... It’ll be a longshot for anyone to outmatch the sheer ingenuity on display in camera technique, editing, tone, and style, which are all so singularly Schoenbrun that you’d think they’re an assured auteur who’s been making movies professionally for at least twenty years, not five." - Luke Hicks, AV Club

"Schoenbrun is one of our most eloquent filmmakers, and their talents exceed themselves here. Yes, this is a film about filmmaking, and an homage to the slasher, but it’s also a film about bodies, adoration, and the exceptional revelation of being understood for the first time… Douglas Greenwood, i-D

Opens August 21 | The infamous Camp Miasma slasher franchise is getting rebooted yet again. After years of slapdash sequels, the franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original’s film’s “final girl”, a now reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium as a whole new kind of slasher emerges from the bottom of the lake.
