Q&As to follow select presentations (details below)

“A stark portrait of resilience. Strathairn is once again a one-man tour de force." - Claire Shaffer, New York Times

“A crucial reminder of society’s duty to bear witness, especially whenever and wherever it would seem impossible to raise one’s voice above the din of indifference." - Michael Rechtshaffen, Los Angeles Times

In this film adaptation of his virtuoso stage performance, which debuted at Chicago Shakespeare Theater last fall, Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn (NOMADLAND; GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK) is Jan Karski, a reluctant WWII hero and Holocaust witness. After surviving the devastation of the Blitzkrieg, Karski swears allegiance to the Polish Underground and risks his life to carry the first eyewitness reports of war-torn Poland to the Western world and, ultimately, the Oval Office. Strathairn captures the complexity and legacy of this self-described “insignificant, little man” whose timely story of moral courage and individual responsibility can still shake the conscience of the world.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will not be a Q&A following the Friday, March 3 presentation.

Co-director/co-writer Derek Goldman, former Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn and journalist Sheri Flanders scheduled to attend for a post screening Q&A Saturday, March 4, 7:30PM.
