Monday, January 22, 7:45 p.m. (Encore) | Set in 1990s Taipei, Yang’s expansive satire documents a group of self-involved city dwellers whose imperfect and complicated professional and personal lives mirror the swiftly evolving modernization of the country. Witty and irreverent, set against the backdrop of the bustling and bursting city, A CONFUCIAN CONFUSION finds Yang ever searching for the soul of the place he calls home. The new 4K restoration was undertaken by the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute with the support of Kaili Peng and Kaleidoscope Pictures.
